What does the new ArcGIS Enterprise mean for your organization? ArcGIS Enterprise is the new name for ESRI’s ArcGIS for Server product family. Released in December 2016, it encompasses ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store, and ArcGIS Web Adaptor.  These components have not changed, but now offer new and exciting features under one umbrella – ArcGIS Enterprise. ESRI server software is now kicked up to a whole new level.
So what do you get with this new full-featured mapping and analytic platform?

– An Enterprise GIS Portal
– A Powerful GIS Server
– A Fast Access Data Store
– Add More Enterprise GIS Capabilities
– Enhance Your GIS Server With Extensions
– Enterprise Geodatabase

ArcGIS Enterprise is flexible: run it locally, in the Cloud, or in ESRI managed cloud services.
ArcGIS Enterprise is secure: Esri continuously embeds security into the structure of its ArcGIS platform, helping your organization and departments meet your security and compliance requirements.

A new ArcGIS JavaScript API has been released for your GIS web development! The ArcGIS API for JavaScript version 4.3 has additional capabilities, such as 3D support map rotation and deeper portal integration. Is this new API the right one to use for your application?   Though it has unique capabilities, version 4.3 is also lacking in some functionality that the 3.2 API version has. Check out the ESRI functionality guide to decide which API is the right choice for your application.

Editing with feature templates in Arcmap: If you like to work with queries on your map data, keep in mind that queries do not allow you to use a feature template unless your template matches the query. This is an easy item to forget and can sometimes be frustrating. Suggestions: In ArcMap, match your query in the feature template properties, or save your query but remove it.  One more suggestion would be to work in ArcGIS Pro. Pro warns you but allows feature templates to work even when a query on the feature class does not match the template.

In ArcMap, to set your template to match your query click on the matching template in the template manager and open the template properties. Add the matching parameters here in order to use a template to match your feature class query.
